However Rashid who is close to the seperatist leader, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq of Hurriyat had withdrawn the case against two attackers who threw ink on him on Monday. Expressing his disappointment for not being able to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi Rashid said that India was proving Mohammed Ali Jinnah’s two nation theory right.

Rashid said, that the ink attack on him, “is not a big issue. The core issue needs to be resolved”. The little known Hindu Sena claimed responsibility for the ink attack on Rashid who hosted a beef party on Monday afternoon at Press Club. Earlier Rashid was also beaten up by the Bhartiya Janta Party leaders in assembly. However on Tuesday, Pakistan’s envoy Abdul Basit had an hour-long meeting with Mirwaiz Umer Farooq.
